THE LAST DHOW
Dhows are traditional Arabic sailing vessels primarily used along the coasts of the Arabian Peninsula to carry goods. Building a dhow in the United Arab Emirates is no longer possible because of the price of teak wood.
The following essay looks at the last dhow to be built by Mohammed Abdullah Buhaji, who has built more than 100 dhows over a 50 year career.
