SEEING DOUBLE

The village of Kodinji, in the southern Indian state of Kerala, is comprised of a core of 2,000 families. It is a seemingly nondescript place save for one thing: walking around the village, one is hit with seeing double.

The project, Seeing Double, reveals a Muslim community with an astounding 250 sets of twins, set against the backdrop of lush Kerala. While most twinning occurs in the West because of the widespread use of fertility drugs, doctors cannot attribute a reason to why it occurs in Kodinji, especially given that India has one of the lowest twinning rates in the world.
